Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Laurie Simmons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2007. In the First Open Post- War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Three Red Petit-Fours sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,186.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Laurie Simmons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking Chanel Purse in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 94,535.83).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Laurie Simmons erzielte im September 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open Post- War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Three Red Petit-Fours für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.186,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laurie Simmons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walking Chanel Purse im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 94.535,83).
