Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work 4 Bll. aus: Les Grimaces by Louis Léopold Boilly was auctioned at Ketterer in October 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had set an estimate of EUR 450.00, but failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 230.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Léopold Boilly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance to the Turkish Garden Café in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 4,562,500.00 (€ 3,289,473.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit 4 Bll. aus: Les Grimaces von Louis Léopold Boilly im Oktober 2003 bei Ketterer versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit EUR 450,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung jedoch nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 230,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Léopold Boilly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The entrance to the Turkish Garden Café im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.562.500,00 (€ 3.289.473,68).
