Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June this year Bonhams in London held the auction Limited Editions and Artists' Jewellery, which included the work Le Cadeau, 1921-1974 by Man Ray. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,408.00 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Limited Editions and Artists' Jewellery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Cadeau, 1921-1974 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.408,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
