Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Markus Lüpertz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Titan sold for USD 195,300.00 (€ 179,635.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Markus Lüpertz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Arrangement für eine Mütze I- dithyrambisch (Arrangement for a Cap I- dithyrambic) sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 300,000.00 (€ 333,124.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Markus Lüpertz erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Titan für USD 195.300,00 (€ 179.635,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Markus Lüpertz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Arrangement für eine Mütze I- dithyrambisch (Arrangement for a Cap I- dithyrambic) im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 300.000,00 (€ 333.124,41).
