This artwork by Mary Bauermeister achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Pencil Twin & Pencelle Twin sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 43,053.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Bauermeister have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alutable in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50).

In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Pencil Twin & Pencelle Twin für USD 52.500,00 (€ 43.053,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Bauermeister auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alutable im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50).
