Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michel Majerus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Ohne Titel (551, 1005, 516, Ohne Titel, 1008, 554, 548, 468, 153) sold for GBP 283,500.00 (€ 336,121.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Majerus; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot nothing is permanent sold at auction in September 2021 with the realized price of USD 600,800.00 (€ 518,960.01).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Michel Majerus erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Ohne Titel (551, 1005, 516, Ohne Titel, 1008, 554, 548, 468, 153) für GBP 283.500,00 (€ 336.121,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michel Majerus; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit nothing is permanent im September 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 600.800,00 (€ 518.960,01).
