In December last year Bonhams held the auction Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples, which included the work Thursday by Pat Steir. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,430.17), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pat Steir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elective Affinity Waterfall in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,966,580.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thursday von Pat Steir zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.430,17) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pat Steir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elective Affinity Waterfall im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.966.580,98).
