Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Porteur de Fei (Guerin 64; Mongan, Kornfeld & Joachim 46II) by Paul Gauguin was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 19,132.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 24,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gauguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternité II in November last year with an auction result of USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
