Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples Online, which included the work Nervous City Street Scene, from Ten Lithographs by Ten Artists by Red Grooms. The »bidding war« ended at USD 956.25 (€ 781.89), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Red Grooms achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 83,382.61).
