In June this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Venice Notebook 2001, #15 (G. 1923, B.-W. 159) by Richard Serra. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,350.00 (€ 5,815.02), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Serra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L.A. Cone in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 4,267,750.00 (€ 3,285,917.77).
