This artwork by Robert Mangold achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Four Color Frame Painting #3 sold for USD 196,850.00 (€ 184,766.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Mangold have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 746,500.00 (€ 956,547.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Mangold erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Four Color Frame Painting #3 für USD 196.850,00 (€ 184.766,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Mangold auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 746.500,00 (€ 956.547,57).
