Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples, which included the work La Negra, from Mujeres by Rufino Tamayo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 953.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rufino Tamayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work America in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 5,358,830.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Negra, from Mujeres von Rufino Tamayo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 953,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rufino Tamayo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit America im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.802.500,00 (€ 5.358.830,94).
