Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pastèque #1 by Rufino Tamayo was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,931.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rufino Tamayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work America in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 5,358,830.94).
