Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in London held the auction Limited Editions and Artists' Jewellery, which included the work Dark And Fast (Sf-277), 1981 by Sam Francis. The price achieved of EUR 1,280.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Francis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition in Blue and Black in November last year with an auction result of USD 13,557,500.00 (€ 13,133,294.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Limited Editions and Artists' Jewellery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dark And Fast (Sf-277), 1981 von Sam Francis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.280,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Francis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition in Blue and Black im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.557.500,00 (€ 13.133.294,58).
