It achieved a price of EUR 1,024.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Francis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition in Blue and Black in November last year with an auction result of USD 13,557,500.00 (€ 13,133,294.58).

Die Arbeit Sans Titre (Sf-350), 1992 von Sam Francis wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Limited Editions and Artists' Jewellery bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 1.024,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Francis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition in Blue and Black im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.557.500,00 (€ 13.133.294,58).
