This artwork by Sean Scully achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work without title sold for USD 52,920.00 (€ 48,675.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sean Scully achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Song in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,046,500.00 (€ 1,907,091.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sean Scully erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 52.920,00 (€ 48.675,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sean Scully erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Song im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.046.500,00 (€ 1.907.091,60).
