SOL LEWITT (1928-2007) Irregular Zigzag Bands etching and aquatint in colors, on Arches paper, 1996, signed in pencil, numbered 18/50 (there were also fifteen artist's proofs), published by Leucadia National Corporation, New York, with full margins, in very good condition, framed Image: 6 1 ⁄ 2 x 27 in. (165 x 686 mm.) Sheet: 13 x 31 in. (330 x 787 mm.)

The work Irregular Zigzag Bands by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Christies in July this year. It achieved a price of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,658.80), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).

Die Arbeit Irregular Zigzag Bands von Sol LeWitt kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.658,80) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
