Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Game by William Wegman was sold in the Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash: Featuring Artists of the South of France auction at Bonhams in New York in August 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,296.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Wegman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On and On, 2015 in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,822.95).
