Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alex Katz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Late Summer Flowers sold for USD 36,830.00 (€ 33,727.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Katz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Umbrella I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,375,000.00 (€ 3,914,757.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alex Katz erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Late Summer Flowers für USD 36.830,00 (€ 33.727,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alex Katz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Umbrella I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.375.000,00 (€ 3.914.757,96).
