The work Abstract Crosses by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Die Arbeit Abstract Crosses von Andy Warhol wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
