Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of GBP 312,500.00 (€ 362,709.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
