screenprint in colors, 1986, on Lenox Museum Board, a unique trial proof aside from the edition (the edition was 100 plus 25 artist's proofs), published by the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, Inc., New York, with 'The Estate of Andy Warhol' and the 'Andy Warhol Art Authorization Board' inkstamps on the reverse (annotated 'T.J.H.' and '1446 UT 059' in pencil), soft scuffing throughout, otherwise generally in very good condition, framed

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Letter to the World (The Kick), from Martha Graham by Andy Warhol was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,629.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Letter to the World (The Kick), from Martha Graham von Andy Warhol kam im Februar 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.629,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
