This artwork by César achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2007. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Compression sold for GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,491.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by César achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compression "Zim"Compressed Car in December 2015 with an auction result of EUR 627,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von César erzielte im Juni 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Compression für GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.491,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von César erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compression "Zim"Compressed Car im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 627.000,00.
