Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Two prints by the artist by Claes Oldenburg was sold in the Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD auction at Christies in New York in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,276.00 (€ 3,013.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two prints by the artist von Claes Oldenburg wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.276,00 (€ 3.013,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
