Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
The work Four Flowers in Still Life by David Hockney was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Christies in New York in October 2013. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,356.19), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
