Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Day After (Schiefler 15; Woll 10) by Edvard Munch was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,810.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
