In September last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Study from Human Body (after, Study from Human Body 1987) (S. 8, T 30) by Francis Bacon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,510.03), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
