In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Polar Co-ordinates VI, from Polar Co-ordinates for Ronnie Peterson by Frank Stella. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,748.34), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit Polar Co-ordinates VI, from Polar Co-ordinates for Ronnie Peterson von Frank Stella zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.748,34) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Point Of Pines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.082.500,00 (€ 25.188.357,70).
