This artwork by Frank Stella achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD auction, the work The Affidavit, from Moby Dick Deckle Edges sold for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,384.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Stella erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD wurde die Arbeit The Affidavit, from Moby Dick Deckle Edges für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.384,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Point Of Pines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.082.500,00 (€ 25.188.357,70).
