Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Phillips in New York held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Drop, Dripped by Fred Wilson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000 - 8,000, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250 (€ 4,598) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bat in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 118,750 (€ 91,431).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Drop, Dripped von Fred Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000 – 8.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250 (€ 4.598) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fred Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bat im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750 (€ 91.431).
