Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Segal achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2020. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Woman on White Wicker Rocker sold for USD 125,000.00 (€ 113,337.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Segal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dancers in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 751,466.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Segal erzielte im März 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Woman on White Wicker Rocker für USD 125.000,00 (€ 113.337,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Segal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dancers im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.025.000,00 (€ 751.466,28).
