Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Capriccio No. I by Hans Hofmann was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. It achieved a price of USD 69,300.00 (€ 67,131.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Hofmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leise Zieht Durch Mein Gemüt Liebliches Geläute (Mellow Sound Of Bells Rings Gently Through My Mind) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 8,597,150.00 (€ 7,592,643.29).
