In September 2014 Christies in New York held the auction First Open/NYC, which included the work Gun Dog by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,594.55) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Michel Basquiat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open/NYC durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gun Dog von Jean-Michel Basquiat zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 39.594,55) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
