In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Two Hearts at Sunset, from 2005 Suite by Jim Dine. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,781.46), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Dine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Hearts at Sunset, from 2005 Suite von Jim Dine zur Versteigerung kam.
