Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pygmies Sous La Lune (D. 562) by Joan Miró was sold in the Prints auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2009. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,424.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Miró achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture (Étoile Bleue) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,561,250.00 (€ 29,174,436.97).
