Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Josephine Meckseper could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open/NYC auction, the work Untitled (March on Washington, Nothing to Kill or Die For) changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,898.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josephine Meckseper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Hammer And Sickle No. 2), which sold at auction in June 2012 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,469.53).
