Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Julian Schnabel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work For Anna Magnani sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,854.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Schnabel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ethnic Type #14 in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,452,500.00 (€ 1,220,793.41).
