Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Scotch Magic Tape by Katherine Bernhardt. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,374.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katherine Bernhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scotch Magic Tape von Katherine Bernhardt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.374,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katherine Bernhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
