This artwork by Lucian Freud achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in September last year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Man Posing (H. 27, F. 44, T. 37) sold for GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,208.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucian Freud erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Man Posing (H. 27, F. 44, T. 37) für GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.208,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
