Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Remains, from Eight Lithographs to Benefit the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts Inc. by Philip Guston. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,276.00 (€ 3,013.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Guston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Strong Light in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit Remains, from Eight Lithographs to Benefit the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts Inc. von Philip Guston zur Versteigerung kam.
