Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Diebenkorn could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work #11 (opened letter on a table), from 41 Etchings Drypoints changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,266.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Diebenkorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recollections of a Visit to Leningrad in November this year with an auction result of USD 46,410,000.00 (€ 42,546,754.68).
