Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Hamilton could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work La Scala Milano (Lullin 71) changed hands for USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,381.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epiphany in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 557,000.00 (€ 768,020.27).
