Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior with Chair, from the Leo Castelli 90th Birthday portfolio (C. 309) by Roy Lichtenstein was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June this year. The price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 13,956.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Interior with Chair, from the Leo Castelli 90th Birthday portfolio (C. 309) von Roy Lichtenstein kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 13.956,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
