Signed and numbered 179/200 in black ink on the base (there were also approximately 15 proofs), published by the artist for Artists for Scholarship, Education, and Defense Fund for Racial Equality, New York.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Modern Sculpture with Apertures (C. 46) by Roy Lichtenstein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,985.00 (€ 6,396.52), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Modern Sculpture with Apertures (C. 46) von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.985,00 (€ 6.396,52) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
