Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Complex Forms (Krakow 1989.09) by Sol LeWitt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,255.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Complex Forms (Krakow 1989.09) von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.255,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
