This work without title by William Baziotes was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in February 2019. It achieved a price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,137.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Baziotes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phantasm in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,332,500.00 (€ 1,119,936.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Baziotes wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.137,62) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Baziotes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phantasm im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.332.500,00 (€ 1.119.936,12).
