Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in August last year. In the Prints & Multiples Summer Splash auction, the work Happy Flyaway Days sold for USD 4,080.00 (€ 4,053.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
