Sold at the upper estimate price
In April 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Red Lenin (F. & S. Ii.403) by Andy Warhol. The auction ended at the price of USD 70,000.00 (€ 57,975.82), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
