Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Scream (After Munch) by Andy Warhol was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 275,000.00 (€ 227,762.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Scream (After Munch) von Andy Warhol wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 227.762,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
