Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anish Kapoor could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 280,000.00 (€ 271,238.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anish Kapoor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,945,250.00 (€ 2,471,462.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anish Kapoor konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 280.000,00 (€ 271.238,98) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anish Kapoor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.945.250,00 (€ 2.471.462,02).
